The concluding installment of the star-studded edition of The Traitors was mistakenly made available by overseas distributors prior to its planned UK airing on Thursday, according to official sources.

It is understood that the finale was watched by a few hundred viewers of the streaming service the streaming service in Canada; they could watch it for a couple of hours until it was taken down.

The installment being uploaded was not considered a mistake by the producing network, and a representative for the company asked those who think they have discovered the outcome of the series to "avoid sharing potential spoilers".

"We urge those who believes they have uncovered the ending of The Celebrity Traitors to hold any information they have to themselves," the statement read.

"Please avoid posting any spoilers so that the millions of fans who have been faithfully following every twist and turn of the show can enjoy the final this night."

The Celebrity Traitors is presently the top-rated TV show of the year, with an average of 12.6m viewers over the first four episodes.

Fans of the series have been eagerly anticipating to see whether traitors the traitors will win the £100,000 prize for charity or whether loyal contestants Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed and David Olosuga will be triumphant.

A former winner of the third season of the show stated that "no one likes reveals", which are "the thief of joy".

The winner mentioned he will be settling in to view the finale tonight as it airs, with his entire family and "some snacks".

Thursday's final episode is extended to 70 minutes on the main channel, with an extended edition of The Celebrity Traitors: Uncloaked set to air on BBC Two after the final.

Host the host will be joined by the cast and the co-host as they respond to the series conclusion.
