Nigel Farage Accuses Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by instructing children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and white children oppressors.

At a gathering for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike soon after winning the next general election,” Farage commented during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They are telling little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They are dividing us, instead of fostering unity. They promote this negative culture.”

In response to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “nonsense”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these immediately upon entering government.

“Farage has built his public life on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, including education … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and seems not to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks suggested the group would reform the educational framework. He said: “We face an enormous task with education – absolutely herculean. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to Charlie Kirk, he commented: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind rather than current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned at school, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in recent years caused widespread disruption in schools and millions of days of lost learning for students.

During the American gathering, Farage also vowed to promote the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He said organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I am serious. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of youth to these educational programs. I pledge this now and I will follow through.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, provides complimentary classes. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of freedom. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
