Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Died in a Los Angeles Traffic Collision

Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the globally famous franchise Call of Duty, has tragically died in a car accident in the state of California he was 55 years old.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.

The influential video game developer lost his life when his automobile collided and caught fire on a highway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.

"This represents a heartbreaking loss, and our hearts are with Vince's loved ones, his loved ones, and all those touched by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts said.
